Reliable High Performance Internal Solid State Drives
The development and adoption of Solid State Drive (SSD) technology is revolutionizing the industry. SSD drives are solid-state and have no moving parts. Compared with hard disk drive (HDD) technology, with their spinning media and read/write heads, the reliability of SSD units are much higher. SSD units offer much lower latency for reads, and show much higher read speeds. For mixed reads and writes, the advantages are not quite as great. The costs of SSD units is higher, due to the drastically lower latency and improved performance. Over time, however, the performance may degrade slightly as the media becomes full and is used for long periods of time.
Aspen System Direct offers a complete line of state-of-the-art, award-winning Kingston Technology SSD drives for customers who demand the highest possible performance from their systems. Some of our customers choose hybrid configurations, which integrate a mix of HDD and SSD units to optimize the overall cost/performance ratios. For example, recent data that is accessed frequently can be stored on SSD drives, and data which is less frequently accessed, or can be accessed with slightly slower response times, can be stored on HDD units for lower overall cost-of-ownership. These SSD units are shock-proof, silent, and can be configured and integrated with all of our controllers, RAID and HDD units to achieve a cost/performance/power signature to meet the exact needs of any client. |
